Website is up, I payed for a domain.

Here’s some wise advice kiddies, don’t go for a free domain, it’s retarted and will link pages on your website to bad pages that contain lots of spyware. Also, use ftp software, it will save your life.

Thanks for reading

I was having issues getting a big enough lady beatle to scale down and copy in (my website continues on the lady beatle theme of the last stonefest page) and I did it!

The combined use of Photoshop and a retrace by hand in Illustrator got me there! Now, back to work!

See you all soon!

NO… IMAGES ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE!!!

I’ve been trying and trying to get the images on the page to sit inside the same box as the text, but inside of a column on the right hand side of the page. So far they haven’t complied but I’m getting closer and closer.

I just worked out how to make my page a fixed layout, it was a bit of a no brainer but I’m glad it was so easy in the end, sometimes we take the most complex approaches to the simplest problems. Now I’m having trouble centering the layout, but I’m just about to go back through my book and google to see if I can find some results, I think the fact that I styled the body so much (a result of trying to “fix” my nody’s position… not the way to do it at all) I’ve run into a good deal of issues, I’m about to go back and do some re-editing and see if I can come up with some results.

In case I haven’t mentioned him yet, I came across this guys website a little while back, he’s quite an accomplished designer and seems to be nice to me on twitter, so I think he deserves a mention. http://www.kevadamson.com/

Thats it for today folks. See you soon!

Ratatouille and the website

Tonight I’ve cooked myself some ratatouille for the first time, It’s been simmering for almost an hour now so it’s almost done. It taistes delicious!

Oh right, where were me, yes, my website.

Eh herm, well I haven’t made much more progress on it, I’ve been talking to a friend about divs and getting columns into my layout. Last tut I asked Geoff how to go about getting some columns in CSS working and how to get the scroller happening. I managed to get the scroller working but columns are proving themselves to be a little harder. Mind you I quite enjoy the scripting side of design, working in HTML is pretty fun and I’ve subscribed to a few podcasts with some css tips to help me realise my design.

Peace, Love and understanding people. My website will come to life soon enough!
